Field Trips


Checklist for a great field trip

1. Choose a program to fit your needs.

See the list of program options on the right under "What's Inside." Need help meeting a standard? Call 612-624-2756 or e-mail raptored@umn.edu to discuss program content.

2. Call 612-624-2756 or e-mail raptored@umn.edu to make your reservation.

  • Contact us at least two weeks ahead.
  • Be ready with:
    o    Program date and time
    o    Program name
    o    Number of students and grade
    o    Special needs
    o    Contact name
    o    School name
    o    School address and phone
    o    E-mail address
    o    How you heard about us

Field trip costs

  • $5.00 per student/senior
  • $7.50 per adult
  • One chaperone is admitted free for every 10 students
  • Minimum: 12 students or $60 minimum fee

3. Get ready for your trip.

  • Chaperones. We require 1 adult for every 10 students. For program attendance, 1 adult is admitted free for every 10 students. Additional adults will be charged.
  • The Raptor Center rules. Please go over proper behavior for a field trip. Remember, your experience includes wild animals that need a calm and quiet atmosphere to be comfortable.

4. Arrive at The Raptor Center.

  • Give TRC directions to your bus driver
  • Check in at the front desk to pay program fee (we accept cash, check, or credit card)

5. Explore. . . touch. . . investigate. . . learn. . . ask. . . and have fun!
